This study analyzed the perceptions of public school student’s in Campinas about risk and protection factors. Two questions were elaborated so that they ponder and answered regarding what, in their point of view, makes them feel well and what they do not like in their lives. Twenty-seven children and adolescents, between 6 and 15 years old participated in this research. The answers were analyzed and organized in categories by meaning. This study considered risk and protection factors not as absolute, but in its dynamic and contextual form. Students pointed out as risk factor, in different dimensions: familiar discussions, relationship cheating, violence, deaths, swearing, lackness of material stuff. As protection factor, participants indicated mainly: friendship, dialogue, freedom to play, school, church etc. Some students understand protection as lack of risk, being this lack associated mainly to economic difficulties.
