Bachelor in Psychology: Legislation and new curriculum proposition at the State University of Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to present a proposal already implemented for a renewed curriculum to the bachelorship in psychology to the high school, aiming to improve the graduation of the professors in this area. Considering the requirements of the LDB N.9394/96 and based in the corresponding determinations, the Psychologic Institute of the State University of Rio de Janeiro presented, from the dean´s office, the XXI/2005 deliberation which changed the previous professor career to a new course with a longer curriculum, in a total minimum of 2800 hours, divided in six academic semesters. This paper also contains theoretical aspects about the legislation, the educator conception, and the objectives of the course. Concerning technical matter, it presents the general aspects of a new curriculum proposal, exposed in schematic tables. It also expose the philosophy of the new curriculum proposal and the corresponding organizations of the professor preparation course.
